The Trailer Watchdog app is a connectivity and display solution designed to report the Bluetooth device’s data conveniently. Monitor trailers axle temperatures, recieve notifications and store important information with the app. Development was carried out in the Android SDK environment working with the modern programming language Kotlin. There were used Bluetooth technologies. Implemented reception and display of data f rom Bluetooth devices, tracking critical temperatures and notification about it, as well as savind an array af data f rom one session in the phone’s memory.
About client
At the end of 2021, we received a request to assist in Android app development and IoT device integration for a security system for a USA company. The main idea of their product is to track the metrics of trailers. If deviations from the norm are detected, the owner is notified of potential problems with the trailer.
Their product provides:
- Monitoring key metrics such as axle temperatures, tire pressure, and others.
- Real-time visualization of key metrics
- Receiving notifications about problems.
- Storing information about ride sessions.

What We Did
We developed a comprehensive connectivity and display solution focused on efficiently reporting Bluetooth device data. Our primary aim was to monitor trailer axle temperatures and provide users with timely notifications. The development process took place within the Android SDK environment, leveraging the modern Kotlin programming language. We seamlessly integrated Bluetooth technologies to facilitate the reception and display of data from connected devices. Key functionalities include tracking critical temperatures and delivering notifications when necessary. Furthermore, we designed the app to intelligently store an array of data from each session in the phone's memory, ensuring easy access for users to monitor temperature metrics seamlessly.
